Building Trust Through Connection

Ask Quincey Bernard where he’s from and his face lights up. He grew up in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and was raised with a curiosity that has never left him. Quincey has always been fascinated by people and their stories. That natural curiosity — to learn, to listen, to connect — has shaped his journey from student to trusted wealth consultant at Adams Brown.

“I believe that my ability to find a point of connection with most people I meet makes me unique. It stems from my natural curiosity of wanting to learn about others and having been exposed to so many different ideas throughout my travels.”

Curiosity That Crossed Continents

Quincey’s early plans pointed toward international trade. But while studying at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, his fascination with global markets took a more personal turn. He realized what he enjoyed most wasn’t just economics — it was helping people make sense of their own financial lives. Around 2020, he followed that instinct and shifted toward wealth management, a move that allowed him to turn global curiosity into personal connection.

Travel remains one of his greatest teachers. Childhood summers spent visiting family across the U.S. and abroad deepened his appreciation for different perspectives. Those experiences, he says, made him more empathetic — a quality that now helps him build trust with clients navigating major life decisions.

A Culture That Invests in People

Before Quincey officially joined Adams Brown, his future manager promised him something powerful — that he’d be challenged to grow. That promise was kept. From day one, he’s been encouraged to pursue professional designations and expand his technical knowledge through collaboration with other teams.

“In my role, I work closely with our tax and marketing teams. That cross-collaboration helps me understand the full picture of what clients need.”

Quincey was drawn to the firm’s holistic planning approach — helping clients achieve long-term success, not just short-term results. What impressed him most, though, was the collective expertise of his colleagues. “The people here genuinely want to see clients succeed. That’s what makes Adams Brown special.”

Flexibility for a Full Life

Ask Quincey his favorite perk and he doesn’t hesitate — half-day Fridays. Outside of tax season, the firm’s flexible schedule gives him time to recharge, study or just enjoy the weekend a little earlier.

“Having that time each week makes a big difference. Sometimes I use it to study for my professional exams, sometimes to catch up on life. It gives me space to keep growing.”

That balance reflects Adams Brown’s broader philosophy — when people feel supported, they perform at their best. For Quincey, that support shows up not only in schedule flexibility but also in leadership that invests in his development and well-being.

A Future Built on Connection

From Port-au-Prince to the Midwest, Quincey’s journey has always centered on curiosity, growth and genuine relationships. Whether he’s advising clients, learning from teammates or planning his next trip, his motivation remains the same — to connect with people and help them move forward with confidence.

“At the end of the day, I just want to keep learning and growing. That’s what keeps me excited about the work we do.”
