From Dental Practice Manager to Trusted Advisor
With decades of experience, she understands both the numbers and the people behind them
With over 25 years in the dental industry—including 24 years as an office manager—Tammie Powers has dedicated her career to helping dental practices run smoothly. Now, as a Dental Practice Advisor at Adams Brown Technology Specialists, she continues to do what she loves: supporting dentists and their teams by improving their financial, operational and technology strategies.
“I love that I still get to be involved in dentistry since that’s where my experience has been for over 25 years. I’ve seen firsthand the challenges dental practices face, and I’m passionate about helping them find solutions that make their businesses more efficient and successful.”
A Lifelong Dedication to Growth and Hard Work
Tammie’s drive doesn’t stop at the office. Outside of work, she has a passion for lifting weights and working in her yard—both of which she finds therapeutic. “I live in the country, so working on my yard is calming, and I love seeing the results of my hard work almost immediately.”
Her work ethic extends beyond personal hobbies. In 2023, Tammie took on one of her biggest challenges yet—building a barndominium and acting as her own general contractor. “A few clients know that I built a barndominium, and they were impressed that I handled everything myself. Several still ask about it when I see them!”
Flexibility and Support at Adams Brown
One of the things Tammie appreciates most about working at Adams Brown is the flexibility of her role. She splits her time between working in the office and from home, and she enjoys the ability to visit client offices as her schedule allows.
She also credits her manager and the firm for their ongoing support of her career growth.
“My manager has constantly supported my long-term goal of being more involved in the practice advising role. We’ve had open and honest discussions about where I want to be, and he has been instrumental in moving me in that direction.”
When asked what makes her unique, Tammie doesn’t hesitate: “I am fiercely loyal and will do everything in my power to make the lives of the people I love better.” That same loyalty and dedication shine through in her work with clients, where she’s committed to helping them navigate the complexities of running a dental practice.
Her journey is a testament to hard work, resilience and the value of continuous learning—both in and outside the office. Whether she’s advising dental practices, improving her own skills or tackling hands-on projects at home, Tammie’s approach is the same: give it your all and make a difference.
