Step into a day with Maria Palomino – a tax intern in our Overland Park office

Maria Palomino is a tax intern at Adams Brown’s Overland Park office and a student at the University of Kansas (KU), where she’s earning her degree in accounting. She first heard about the firm from a job posting on the KU website and decided to apply to get some real-world experience.

She’s learned how to prepare returns, work with clients and ask the right questions when things get tricky. For Maria, the best part of the internship has been seeing how everything she’s learning in school actually plays out in the real world. It’s fast-paced, but the team is supportive and there’s always something new to take on.

When she’s not at the office, you can probably find her fishing or planning her next trip to Tulum (the beach there is her favorite).
