How I help . . .

I enjoy helping my clients tackle their day-to-day accounting and business problems, from internal accounting to efficient business practices and everything in between. I initially chose accounting because I loved the bookkeeping mechanics and the process of keeping a good set of books. Now I enjoy helping my clients understand accounting and giving them my unique, professional advice.

I also love helping my clients make good business decisions regarding buying, selling and operating their businesses. I understand the things that make them lose sleep at night and try to come up with good business solutions for them. Clients are more than just numbers to me. I know that their businesses are their livelihoods, and I want to do my best to help them protect their investments.

Q&A with Vickie

What does above + beyond mean to you?
It means going beyond what is required and giving it your best 100% of the time no matter what the task is. I don't believe in giving anything less than my all. I believe you should put 100% into everything you do, and you’ll get that in return as well. As a strategic ally, I want to always be on the client’s side and make sure I can be counted on to help no matter what.
Do you have any specialized skills outside of work?
I like sewing, crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking, any crafty thing and reading for fun. I love to see ideas on Pinterest and then try and re-create them.
What are some of your favorite things?
I love all food! My favorite restaurant is Lumpy’s, a local bar in town that serves great burgers. When it comes to music, I love 80’s music since it’s what I grew up with, but I can listen to just about anything and typically will turn on music daily. For reading, I like fiction – romance, thrillers and comedy.
What is/was your biggest life challenge?
I think being a working mom when my two daughters were young and making sure that I spent enough quality time with them even during the extremely busy times was a true challenge. It must have worked because they don't feel they were cheated. I think trying to keep up with the changing times in public accounting and always trying to learn and improve is a challenge all by itself.
What do you enjoy most about your work at Adams Brown?
I have always loved the people and the flexibility it gave me when my children were growing up so that I could attend all of their events.
