How I help . . .

Though they never pushed me to go into accounting, both of my parents have found their calling in the accounting industry. Taking an accounting class in high school helped me fall in love with the organization and structure surrounding the profession. Public accounting offers ample opportunities to serve others in a multitude of industries. This ensures my day-to-day life is never dull and never looks the same.

As I expanded my accounting knowledge, my love for auditing grew and flourished. The number one thing I like to remind others about auditors is that we are not the IRS. We are not collecting penalties or back taxes. We are truly here to help our clients, whether that’s through strengthening internal controls, analyzing financial reports to determine how practices within the entity are setting it up for financial success, or by simply providing an understanding between the “why” and “how” financial employees complete their jobs on a daily basis.

My favorite aspect of my job is our ability to know our clients on a deep and personal level. We work with truly great people who make it easy to come into work every day. The relationships built in this career can last a lifetime!

“A workaholic who makes time for what is important in life - family and friends.”

Q&A with Meagan

What does above+beyond mean to you?
above+beyond means doing more than bare minimum. It's putting forth your best effort and then some. It's digging deeper for the solution that truly is the best fit for those you are working with!
What makes you unique?
I love listening to people, whether it’s their successes or an area of struggle for them. I truly believe that we have control of our own happiness, so if I can help someone achieve happiness, I strive to do that!
What does your typical day look like?
Get up at 3:30 a.m., work for one hour, head to the gym (except Mondays...which I use as a full work day and get 12-14 hours in to allow flexibility the rest of the week). Get in a workout and get back to work at 7:00 a.m. Then I work for as long as I'm needed that day! In an effort to achieve my desired work-life balance, I try to be done by around 5:00 or 5:30 p.m. every day.
What are you most proud of and why?
My marriage. I married my high school sweetheart!
What is your passion outside of work?
Reading! I love how it can take you anywhere.
