How I help . . .
I pride myself on being flexible and adaptable to almost any situation. While this has greatly assisted in my personal life (and added fun along the way), I love this ability to adapt to the challenges my clients may face from day-to-day. One day I may be coaching the next generation stepping into ownership of a family business, guiding them through company structure, tax-payment methods, and industry-specific challenges. When the new shareholders start to see what they’re capable of, I can’t help but feel proud of the work I’ve done. On another day, a new client may walk through the door after having been poorly served by their previous accountant, feeling at wit’s end with their books.
The job then becomes cleaning up old accounts and finding tax opportunities to save that client savings they may have never seen before. On yet another day, an established, familiar client may decide to take the plunge and expand business operations with a new facility but isn’t acquainted with new tax laws that can save tax now rather than later. My superpower may be the ability to reconcile out-of-balance accounts, or other balance-sheet accounts, that haven’t been analyzed for a while. Then I use the knowledge acquired to identify what may have caused issues or inefficiencies, working with my client to increase effectiveness and efficiency so that financial statements become easier to produce and more accurate and reliable.
