How I Help . . .

End-of-year reviews or Farm Service Agency (FSA) audits can be stressful. FSA randomly selects farming operations to be audited, and one of my clients was recently selected. He was worried about what he would need to do to ensure his program payments were secured for the year of review. I was able to provide him a detailed listing of documents I needed to review.

Much to my surprise, he showed up at my office with totes and boxes of old receipts, old statements and a sad look on his face. We took each tote and box one-by-one and found what was needed for submission. Once his paperwork was organized, his frown turned around. After several days of sorting, scanning and organizing, I produced a submission binder with all the information needed. He passed his end-of-year review, and we worked to get him set up on a more effective automated system.

I pride myself on building lifetime relationships with clients by meeting them where they are in their agribusiness journey, navigating challenges and providing positive outcomes.

Q&A with Heather

What does above+beyond mean to you?
Going above+beyond to me is not just telling the client that you care about their operation, but being able to show it. Addressing not only the "right" thing to do, but ensuring it is the "right" thing for the client, their operation, their family and their situation.
What activity plays an important part in your life?
I am a mom to five amazing boys and an amazing young lady. Being able to be present and active in their activities play a very important part of my life. Being able to guide them to build relationships they can take with them forever through those activities is very important and something I take pride in doing.
Do you have any specialized skills outside of work?
Event planning! I put on a few fundraisers for local organizations throughout the year as my way of giving back to the community. I also enjoy planning family/friend gatherings, whether for a holiday or just to connect.
What is your favorite restaurant and why?
Italian restaurants - I was able to visit Italy in high school and fell in love with their culture and let's be honest, their food!
What are you most proud of and why?
My family, hands down. They are my world. Building tomorrow's leaders starts at home, whether on the farm or in the city. I am very proud of my family for overcoming challenges as they arise in today's world and being able to make the best of it.
