With over fifteen years of public accounting experience, Steven Peiffer, CPA, CFE, joined Adams Brown in 2018. Before joining the firm, he spent 2 years auditing with one of the largest firms in the country and 9 years auditing with a large Wichita-based, regional firm. In his current role as an audit principal, Steven specializes in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP) financial statement audits and reviews for small and medium-sized closely held companies. His primary industries of focus include agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, and construction.
Steven is known for being prompt and reliable by his colleagues and clients. He was drawn to a career in accounting after taking and excelling at finance courses in college. One of his most notable service success stories includes a forensic investigation that identified over $350,000 in misappropriated assets. He then helped the client successfully recover those by assisting their legal team in the recovery process.
Steven attributes having a strong family and the opportunity for a good education to his success. Originally from the Wichita area, Steven and his wife, Sara, have been married for almost fifteen years and have one young son, Bodie. They enjoy Wichita because their family is still in the metro area and because of amenities like the only 100-yard indoor shooting range within 500 miles.
When away from the office, Steven enjoys spending time with his family, target shooting, hunting, reading, and playing guitar and video games. His favorite book is The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. He had the graphic novel version of the story as a child and fell in love with the characters. Later in life, he read the original book and fell in love with the story and characters all over again.
