About Langston University
Langston University is a public historically black university located in Langston, Oklahoma. It was established in 1897 as the Oklahoma Colored Agricultural and Normal University, making it one of the earliest institutions of higher education for African Americans. Today, Langston University offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a variety of fields, including agriculture, business, education, liberal arts, nursing, science and technology. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
Langston University has a diverse student body and a number of student organizations and athletic programs. The university’s colors are orange and blue, and its mascot is the Lion.
