Emporia State University – We Are Your Firm
"This internship has changed my understanding of public accounting - in a good way. So many people believe public accounting is just taxes. I learned all the little parts that make up a public accounting firm and heard many different perspectives. For example, being able to do project for clients, calling city and county officials to obtain information we need, figuring out why numbers aren't adding up right and more. Everything I have learned from this internship is going to give me an upper hand in my education and career."
Delaney Smith, audit staff accountant, Great Bend, KS
"What I liked most was the variety of things I learned. I’m happy my internship wasn’t limited to simply hardware or business tools, but also included software and analytics. I liked that I felt welcomed and that I had many people to ask questions and an intern site coordinator to go to when I need help. I was able to learn so much because I had a little more autonomy on what I wanted to work on or what projects I wanted to try out."
Eda Barut, IT student worker, Wichita, KS
"I loved the overall sense of community within Adams Brown. Everyone seems to rely on one another, and everyone is willing to help. Overall, I felt very supported during my time here, and I enjoyed the people I worked with."
Geddy Rettele, student worker, Hutchinson, KS
"Being able to have meetings with clients is very rewarding and beneficial. It is very beneficial to have someone from each part of the firm come and talk about what they do on a daily basis. There are internships where companies just make students make copies and do administrative work. This is not one of them. I have done actual work and have learned about audit, which I really appreciate."
Caleb Blasi, audit student worker, Wichita, KS
