With a new name and brand comes exciting leadership updates for Adams Brown, Strategic Allies and CPAs, in Butler and Sedgwick Counties.

Curtis Dean, CPA, MST, CGMA, partner, was recently appointed to the role of strategic tax services leader, and Shalena Hatfield, CPA, CGMA, senior manager, was recently promoted to office manager in the El Dorado location.

“The leadership shown by both Curtis and Shalena has served the firm and our clients well.  In these enhanced roles, both will continue to excel in serving our clients and communities,” said Brian Staats, CPA, CGMA, managing partner.

Curtis Dean has decades of experience in public accounting.  He earned a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Western State University and a Master of Science in Taxation (MST) with distinction from DePaul University.  In addition to a specialization in transactional tax consulting and compliance, he serves the trust, estate, and business structure tax planning needs of businesses in the healthcare, retail, oil and gas, and manufacturing industries.  Curtis has served from Adams Brown’s Wichita and El Dorado locations for years and will continue to serve clients in both locations and beyond.  Moving to the strategic tax services leadership position will allow him to focus his efforts more on special tax projects and research.

Shalena Hatfield’s tenure in public accounting spans nearly thirty years and includes steads with both regional and national CPA firms as well as private accounting.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University in 1991.  In addition to being a licensed CPA, she is a licensed Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).  Shalena’s expertise is in agriculture, oil and gas, and estates and trusts.  She serves numerous industries including healthcare, real estate, restaurants, manufacturing, and construction.  She is an active member of the El Dorado business community, including the Chamber of Commerce, El Dorado, Inc., and Rotary Club.  In this new role, Shalena will lead the Adams Brown team in El Dorado and heighten her focus on the community and clients.
