Adams Brown’s Summer Interns Participate in Annual Community Service Day

The certified public accounting firm of Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, Chtd. (Adams Brown) participated in an annual intern community service day on June 27, 2018.  This year, the group volunteered in Great Bend.

“We pride ourselves on being involved and engaged our communities,” said Brian Staats, CPA, CGMA, managing partner at Adams Brown. “Prioritizing community service not only helps our communities prosper but also inspires our interns to serve as the next generation of community leaders.”

Seven interns, Tara Bunker, Claire Friess, Heidi Gottschalk, Clayton Milford, Broque Short, Abby Stueder, and Thomas O’Connor, from various Adams Brown office locations, participated in the community service event. The group spent the day assembling flashcards for kindergarten round-up literacy kits with United Way of Central Kansas, cleaning kennels and the facility at Golden Belt Humane Society, and painting with Sunflower Diversified Services.

“Workplace engagement is a key element in the overall partnership with our businesses. When businesses encourage staff to roll up their sleeves and help with projects, no matter how big or small, we all feel the positive impact,” said Gaila Demel, Executive Director of United Way of Central Kansas.  “We are grateful for Adams Brown’s continued support for our Community Partners and their spirit of advocacy for our mission.”

In 2018, the firm will employ a total of fourteen interns and seven student workers who hail from eighteen Kansas communities, including WaKeeney, Great Bend, Hutchinson, Leoti, Inman, Tonganoxie, Wichita, Council Grove, Ulysses, Macksville, Claflin, Derby, Garden Plain, Hays, Hoxie, Eureka, Ellis, and Herndon, as well as Cotati, California.
