Beginning Monday, July 1, 2019, the sales tax rate for Reno County will decrease by 0.5%, from 9.1% to 8.6%.

For those with businesses in Reno County who collect sales tax, it’s important to adjust this rate in your accounting systems so you aren’t over-collecting sales tax.  Adjusting this rate right away will save you time adjusting your sales tax payments in the long run.

As a consumer, the good news is that you’ll be able to keep half-a-percent more in your pockets on purchases made throughout Reno County.  According to Hutch Post, approximately $450,000 in disposable income will stay in shopper’s pockets each month following this rate change.
